The fireplace is used for aesthetics and warming up the home. During a home construction, the fireplace to be built depends on the fuel to be used. The nominal size of a chimney is a width of two feet, height of two feet and a depth of eighteen inches. This dimensions are average and can be increased to suit the desired size. The throating is located about seven inches above the bridging lintel. It is place at thirty degrees from the lintel. The flue should be perpendicular to the throat in order to take up the smoke. a good mason with knowledge of dimensions should be able to construct a working chimney in a home.
